Tao Yoga is also known as "Taoyin – energy balance through the Tao”
Mantak Chia describes in the introduction of his book:
Cultivating gentleness while developing strength
> Your spine will become more flexible and your tendons and psoas muscles will be embued with elasticity. The wisdom of your body will awaken with the healthy effects of activating the subtle chemistry within.
> Taoist stretching and body twist exercises (on the floor) is to help your internal life force, or Qi, to circulate more freely, for the purpose of refreshing, attuning, adjusting and regenerating your personal energy.
> It is a series of postures combined with special breathing patterns, which also helps to strengthen the tendons, the Qi flow and lower back.
> The class finishes with an 8-minute meditation (e.g. The inner Smile).
